Colţ de grădină/ In the corner of the garden

In the corner of the garden
This work’s title is how I have also described this little and intimate corner in my garden. It’s about some tall, very green and intensive plants, which, in their grandeur might offer you any given time love and even a little relaxation. May it be even spiritual.

Concert invitation
There’s nothing easier than to imagine some flowers that are well attached to the ground in a pot. Because, as to speak, why should you tear them out of their world just to paint them?

Inspiratia/The inspiration

..........................................................................
For years I have painted on canvas and cardboard prepared by me. Of course, during the communist period, when art was not a priority, the necessary materials were difficult to be procured and had a questionable quality. This fact did not determine me not to shelter myself before a well-stretched canvas that craved to be painted.
Turning to the current period I may say that all the necessary ingredients are the best quality. Thus, I only paint on cloth very well prepared and stretched on a wooden chassis. Oils are generally of Italian manufacturing and they exist in a wide variety of pastel shades. Both brushes (which are extremely important, pores and width are used depending on how you apply the oil on canvas, and what plastic effect or touch you want to obtain) that I clean every time after I finish the whole thing, and the arsenal used in the elaboration of a work (coal, graphite, painting knife), I purchased from a large and famous Dutch store very well equipped in this respect.
Each painting represents a moment of inspiration well determined. I mean, simply, if it doesn’t arouse your interest and you don’t look beyond the immediate reality, you can’t implement on cloth any artistic emotion. Each work has a personal history and a different birth. Some works that appear difficult to someone outside the trade can be made within 2-3 days. Or even less. Everything depends on the intensity of the state and especially on the spiritual inspiration. Because even a commonplace thing, apparently, if you are charged on the canvas with emotion it catches the artistic valences of on artistic work that can communicate with other viewers, not only with the painter.
In recent years I have readjusted, somehow especially on flowers. And this because I have been living for some time in a house whose garden is special because of my effort and especially of my family to plant various flowers, trees and maintain a green lawn at all times (this is my husbands’ merit, because he takes care of the garden and our green turf).
Therefore, it is almost impossible for me not to look at our flowers and to think that next year they may no longer rise. Therefore, I try to "catch" them on the cloth to make them immortal. From an artistic point of view, of course.
Thus a small collection of floral works was born in my small workshop. Many of the flowers that I painted are not known to me but as artistic impression and sentimental value.
